Blaine Shelter
It's 2:21 in the morning. I'm at the Denny/Blaine shelter. Everyone is asleep(shelter staff's on catnap).
The Denny/Blaine Shelter is housed on the 1st floor of an 4 story parking garage (denoted by a big sign with the letter P on it), in downtown Seattle on 1st and Denny.
It is a curious measure of fate that would place a homeless shelter in the cradle of an urban village of newly upgraded or constructed upmarket high-end apartments. But, here we are surrounded by $2,500 one bedroom apartments, in apartment buildings that suffer 15 - 20 % occupancy!!!
